Review: Michelle Phan’s make-up brush cleansing method
I have tried Michelle Phan’s brush cleansing method for few times already since February (after my last post) and it is very very effective! Better than using Brush Cleaner spray and Facial wash as it can remove the make-up leftover on brushes especially liquid foundation 10 times better and you can save a lot! Below are the cost for Michelle Phan’s method and my old method:
My previous method
Stage cosmetic brush cleanser spray = MYR 25.00
Dermalogica Special cleansing gel big bottle= MYR 258.00
*Estimated cost for 4-6 months cost depending on how often you wear make-up. I wear make-up 3-4 days a week and sometime none in a week because I barely go out.
Michelle Phan’s method
Colovita Extra Virgin Olive Oil = roughly around MYR 38 for medium size bottle
Antibacterial dishwasher (Pro Kleen) = MYR 4.90 (E-Mart supermarket)
*No estimation has been made as both items not yet finish since February.
Pros and cons of both methods that I’ve been using are stated in the table below:
| Michelle Phan’s method | My old method | |
| Pros | - inexpensive - easy - remove dirt 10x better and faster - less time consuming - fun as you swirl the brushes when cleaning it. | - softer brushes |
| Cons | - brush get harder if too much dishwasher applied. - brush get oily if too much olive oil applied. | -- expensive - does not remove dirt 100% - time consuming as does not remove dirt easily |
I will stick to Michelle Phan’s method from now on as it has more pros than my old method. I recommend you to follow Michelle Phan’s method as it is much better. Plus, you can save more water. Seriously! :D
